Red River County VINELink Changed

The Red River County Sheriff page still points to a county-specific VINELink destination. Texas changed the active county service on September 1, 2025. New county jail and court searches and registrations now start at Texas IVSS-Counties. The Texas Attorney General describes the change as a move from VINE to a system provided by Sylogist. Existing registrations migrated. A migrated user should sign in, update the password when prompted, and review saved choices.

The old name still matters because people search for “VINELink Red River County” and may follow the Sheriff's unchanged link. It does not make the legacy portal the current enrollment path. Verify that Red River County and the relevant facility appear in the live IVSS-Counties portal before expecting a result. County participation and data feeds can change.

Search Red River County Custody

A specific-person search does not require an account. Start with the correct custody system and use more than a common name. IVSS-Counties is for participating county jail and court events. TDCJ's separate service covers state prison, parole, and mandatory supervision. A local arrest does not prove the person stayed in the county jail, and a Red River County conviction does not prove current county custody.

1. Open Texas IVSS-Counties and select the custody or offender search.
2. Confirm that Red River County or the responsible facility is offered by the live portal.
3. Enter the name and any identifiers accepted on the current form. Check spelling and aliases.
4. Compare the agency, facility, name, booking information, and case detail before choosing a match.
5. Open the record and read the event wording literally. Save the retrieval date and time.
6. Reconcile a release or transfer event with the Sheriff's booking-out record when precision matters.

If no match appears, retry accurate name variants and identifiers. Then call the Sheriff at 903-427-3838. The broader Red River County released-inmate search path also separates county, state, federal, and immigration custody.

Note: Absence from a changing search can reflect spelling, participation, transfer, delay, or release and is not documentary proof.

Red River County Release Events

IVSS event labels describe what happened in the reporting system. They do not all mean freedom in the community. “Released” confirms departure from the named county jail, subject to reporting time. “Transferred to TDCJ custody” means the state prison system received the person. A transfer can close the local booking while confinement continues.

A notice gives a timely lead. For durable proof, ask the Sheriff for release date and time, release type, authorization, and the receiving agency if transferred. The court order explains bond, dismissal, sentence, or another legal basis.

Register Red River County Alerts

Registration is free and confidential under the state's published description. A user can choose supported event types and receive notices by phone, text, or email. Preferred hours and blackout dates may be available. The account can also pause notices, change contact information, and show notification history.

1. Find the correct person or case in IVSS-Counties.
2. Select the current registration or notification action attached to that record.
3. Create an account or sign in when prompted.
4. Choose the events and phone, text, or email channels that fit the need.
5. Set preferred hours or blackout dates if the portal offers those choices.
6. Complete the live contact-verification step, save the registration, and keep its confirmation.

The current Attorney General instructions do not say that a four-digit PIN is required. Old VINE telephone alerts used a PIN to acknowledge calls, which explains why a migrated user may remember one. Treat that as history unless the live IVSS screen asks for it. Current portal help is available at 866-268-8959 around the clock in English and Spanish.

Red River State Release Alerts

County and state notices are not interchangeable. If IVSS-Counties reports a transfer to TDCJ, move to the TDCJ IVSS portal for prison, parole, and mandatory-supervision notices. TDCJ says victims and concerned citizens may register in confidence for letters, email, text, or a mix, with some notices also available by telephone. Its registration assistance number is 800-848-4284, and the published email is victim.svc@tdcj.texas.gov.

The TDCJ offender search serves a different role. It can show identity, current status, county of conviction, sentence facts, projected release date, maximum sentence date, and parole eligibility data when applicable. Read each date by its label. A projection is not proof of release, and eligibility is not approval.

Legacy VINELink Local Mismatch

Red River County's official page retaining the old brand is the most important local wrinkle. A visitor can reasonably think the Sheriff-endorsed VINELink path is current. The correct response is to preserve the familiar term while routing new searches to IVSS-Counties. Any legacy image or PIN instruction needs a date and a clear migration explanation.

The legacy VINELink landing page may still help identify old wording, but it should not displace the current Texas process.

Note: Obtain the Sheriff's release record even when a portal event looks clear because the record supplies type, time, and destination.

Red River VINELink Boundaries

Neither Texas notification portal is a certified historical archive. Events can lag, and a new registration may not recreate an event that already occurred. If someone vanishes from the search, contact the relevant jail. If the desired event is past, request the existing release record rather than waiting for a new alert.

Federal Bureau of Prisons, ICE, and U.S. Marshals custody are outside these systems. Use the BOP Inmate Locator for federal imprisonment and the ICE detainee locator for civil immigration custody. USMS prisoners may be held in contract facilities, so the federal court, Marshal, or actual confining facility may hold the useful record. A county entry saying “released to ICE,” “USMS,” or another agency signals a transfer unless an official source confirms community release.

IVSS is not an emergency service and cannot guarantee personal safety. For formal verification, match the portal event to the Red River County Sheriff release sheet, a TDCJ release or discharge entry, or the correct federal record. That source-by-source check prevents a move between custodians from being mistaken for final release.

Document Red River VINELink Results

A registry search is another narrow path, not a substitute. The Texas DPS Sex Offender Registry covers only people who have a legal registration duty. For a covered person, it can show a recent photograph, conviction and punishment facts, residence data, and whether the person is discharged or under a named form of supervision. Absence from that registry does not show that someone was never jailed, was not released, or is free from supervision.

Keep a short verification log when timing matters. Record the portal used, the exact agency and event label, the time checked, and the identifiers that support the match. Then note the jail or TDCJ contact that confirmed the event. This small record helps distinguish a late notification from a conflicting custody event and makes a focused written request much easier.
