Understanding Red River County Releases
A Red River County release is the close of one custody episode, not always a return home. The Red River County Sheriff records an exit from the county jail. A magistrate or court may authorize bond, dismiss a charge, credit time served, or mark a county sentence complete. The same jail record may instead show that TDCJ, another county, the U.S. Marshals Service, or an immigration agency received the person. The date alone cannot distinguish those outcomes. The release reason and receiving agency give the date its meaning.
That distinction shapes every later search. A person released on bond has left the jail while the case may remain open. Parole and mandatory supervision follow a state-prison release and carry conditions. Probation comes from a court and may be ordered without a prison stay. A transfer closes the local booking but continues custody elsewhere. “Dismissed” describes a case result, yet another charge or hold can still keep the person confined. Death or escape can also remove a name from a routine roster and must never be described as an ordinary release.
- Discharge
- The end of the sentence or custody obligation identified by the issuing agency.
- Time served
- A release after the court credits enough jail time to satisfy the custodial term.
- Parole
- Conditional community release from TDCJ under state parole authority.
- Probation
- Court-ordered community supervision, which is separate from parole.
- Detainer
- A request or authority that can move a person to another custodian rather than release the person home.
Red River County Release Types
The official booking-out entry should be read with its order, case number, and destination. Common labels can sound final when they are not. A bond resolves the immediate need for jail detention, not the criminal charge. A transfer proves only that Red River County custody ended. Court and corrections records provide the next part of the story.
| Exit type | Meaning | Next official source |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or personal bond | Conditional return to the community while a case may continue | Release sheet and court bond order |
| Time served or sentence complete | The stated county custodial term was satisfied | Judgment, jail credit, and booking-out record |
| Parole or mandatory supervision | State confinement ended subject to supervision | TDCJ offender detail and Parole Division |
| Dismissal | The named charge ended, subject to other cases or holds | File-stamped court order and full jail record |
| Transfer or agency pickup | Another custodian received the person | Receiving agency locator or records office |
For a named person, ask whether the record means release to the community or transfer. That small question prevents a county exit from being mistaken for freedom from all custody. It also shows which agency should answer the next inquiry.
Does Red River Bond End Custody?
Bond ends the current jail stay when the release is processed, but it does not dispose of the pending case. Red River County’s current list focuses on booking and charge data. The Sheriff’s release reason establishes how the person left, while the County Clerk or District Clerk holds later court action. Use the cause number to connect those records. A bond order may impose terms and a later docket may show dismissal, plea, trial, revocation, or another disposition.
Does a missing roster name prove the case ended? No. It may reflect bond, transfer, a data update, or another event. Request the release reason, then follow the cause number to the correct clerk.
Red River County Release Record Fields
A durable request identifies the booking and asks for the fields that explain its close. The public NetData detail may show a release date on a charge line, including an older episode tied to a person who is currently listed. That incidental display is not a browseable release archive and has no clear release-type field. The Sheriff’s booking and release record is therefore the main county source.
| Field | What it establishes |
|---|---|
| Full name, aliases, PID, arrest number | The person and custody episode being matched |
| Booking date and time | When Red River County custody began |
| Arresting agency and charges | Who initiated the booking and its stated basis |
| Bond and cause number | The link to surety, personal bond, and the court file |
| Release date and time | When that jail episode closed |
| Release type or reason | Bond, time served, dismissal, sentence completion, or another basis |
| Receiving agency or destination | Whether custody continued after a transfer |
| Authorization and booking photo | The order supporting the exit and the image tied to booking |
If a code is abbreviated, ask for the jail-management-system code legend or field definition. The Texas Public Information Act requires production of existing public information, subject to applicable exceptions. It does not require an office to create a new report or answer a custom question.
Was Red River Release a Transfer?
A Red River County booking may close because TDCJ picks up a sentenced person. The same boundary applies to another county, USMS, or ICE. In each case, the person has been released from the Sheriff’s custody but not necessarily to the community. Request the receiving agency and destination along with the date. Then move to the locator or records channel for that custodian.
A county release date without a release reason or destination does not prove that all confinement ended.
TDCJ offender information is the next source after state transfer. A federal case may require the BOP locator or USMS guidance. An immigration detainer may lead to the ICE Online Detainee Locator. None of those systems replaces the Sheriff’s record of when the county episode ended.
Request Red River Release Records
Start with the Red River County Sheriff at 500 N. Cedar Street in Clarksville or 903-427-3838. Give enough detail to locate one booking without sending needless sensitive data. Ask for the full booking and release record, not merely a verbal statement that the person is gone.
- Provide the full name and aliases, an approximate booking or release range, and the arrest number when known.
- Request the booking date, charges, bond, cause number, release date and time, release reason, receiving agency, authorization, and booking photo.
- Ask for existing electronic records when suitable and request a written cost estimate if charges may apply.
- If material is withheld, keep the response and any cited exception or attorney-general process.
- Use the cause number to obtain the matching order or judgment from the correct clerk.
Texas Local Schedule PS separates record retention from online display. The county jail register is permanent and includes a release-or-transfer date. Booking-in and booking-out forms and related commitment, transfer, or release orders carry a minimum retention of release or transfer plus two years. A missing online entry therefore does not mean the government record has vanished.
Which Red River Clerk Has Records?
Misdemeanor files generally route to the Red River County Clerk at 200 N. Walnut Street, 903-427-2401. Records that are not online may require an in-person search, and the clerk states that the office need not conduct research for a requester. Its published hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Friday closure. The misdemeanor copy form asks for the cause number, defendant, requested document, delivery details, and payment. Non-certified copies are $1 per page; certification adds $5 per document.
Felony records go to the Red River County District Clerk at 400 N. Walnut Street, 903-427-3761. That office publishes dockets for the 6th and 102nd District Courts. Its schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a Thursday noon-to-1 p.m. closure and Friday closure. Identify the case level and cause number before traveling. Seek the file-stamped bond order, dismissal, judgment, sentence, jail-credit recital, commitment, revocation, or discharge entry.
Release alone does not erase an arrest file. Expunction under Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A and nondisclosure under Government Code Chapter 411 are separate, fact-specific remedies. An expunction can require identified agencies to return or destroy qualifying records. Nondisclosure limits ordinary public disclosure but does not work the same way. The Texas State Law Library guide explains the distinction.
Find Red River County Released Inmates
The correct lookup begins with custody, not a broad name search. Red River County Jail, TDCJ, BOP, and ICE each describe a different legal custodian. A local arrest or conviction does not prove that the person remained at the county jail. Record the time of each check because current lists and status portals change.
- Identify the last known facility or arresting agency and obtain a booking, cause, SID, TDCJ, register, or A-number when available.
- Check the official NetData current-inmate list narrowly. A match indicates current display, while no match has several possible causes.
- Call the Sheriff to ask whether the booking closed, how it closed, and whether another agency received the person.
- Follow the cause number through the County or District Clerk to learn what the court ordered.
- For state imprisonment, open TDCJ offender information and read status, location, projected date, and actual release data as separate fields.
- Check the correct supervision, notification, federal, or immigration channel, then request a written release record for durable proof.
A released person normally drops off the live jail roster. Absence can also mean transfer, spelling mismatch, update lag, or custody elsewhere.
The Red River County 24-Hour Release List page explains why the county’s booking-date filters cannot produce a same-day release feed. For one named person, the release sheet and court order are stronger than a roster inference.
TDCJ Red River Release Search
The TDCJ online offender search applies after a person enters the Texas state-prison system. It does not authenticate a county-only jail release. Search with a TDCJ or SID number when possible, or use name with the available descriptive fields. Confirm the county of conviction and case number before treating a result as the same person.
| Search or result field | How to use it |
|---|---|
| TDCJ number or SID | Strong identifier for the state record |
| Surname and given name | Starting point that still needs identity checks |
| Sex, race, approximate age | Helps narrow common-name results |
| County and case number | Connects the result to a Red River County conviction |
| Current status or facility | Shows present TDCJ record status at retrieval |
| Projected, maximum, eligibility, release | Different dates that must not be merged |
The official TDCJ offender-information page provides telephone and email alternatives when the web result is unclear. Keep the SID or TDCJ number in the inquiry. A projected date can change; an actual released or discharged status and the underlying record provide stronger evidence.
The live search form shown below is an interface reference, not a saved status result. Use the source link immediately before searching.
Its fields help locate a state record, but the detail screen and agency confirmation establish what a displayed date means.
Red River County Roster Limits
The Sheriff calls NetData a current-inmate listing. Beginning Date, Ending Book-In Date, and Starting Inmate Name narrow current booking results. They are not release-date controls. Results can show an as-of date, inmate name, arrest number, book date, dorm code, and abbreviated charge. The detail template can retain an older charge-line release date while the person has a current pathway, yet no public release archive or display-retention promise is offered.
The official interface image comes from the Red River County current-inmate list.
The booking-date labels explain why a three-day date range cannot be relabeled as a Red River County release window.
Getting Home After Red River Release
Rural travel requires planning before the jail completes a release. The Ark-Tex Council of Governments TRAX service offers low-cost, on-demand transportation across a nine-county area that includes Red River County. The published service information does not promise jail-gate pickup, immediate capacity, or a trip timed to a release event.
Confirm the exit location and a current processing estimate with the jail. Then ask TRAX about service area, scheduling, pickup point, and availability. Family or another trusted contact should avoid relying on a projected time until the releasing office confirms that paperwork is complete. A TDCJ, federal, or ICE transfer requires planning with that custodian instead of assuming the person will walk out at the Red River County Jail.
Red River Post-Release Supervision
State parole and mandatory supervision are managed through the TDCJ Parole Division, with release decisions made by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. TDCJ assigns Red River County to the Paris District Parole Office in Region I. Probation is different. It is imposed by a court and administered through local community supervision, and it may occur without a state-prison release.
Verify parole through the offender detail, board information, and assigned office. Verify probation through the judgment and appropriate supervision office. An absconder label means a supervised person stopped reporting and their location is unknown; it does not prove a new booking. The full distinction and verification path appear on the Red River County Parole and Probation page.
Red River Release Alerts and Federal Records
The Sheriff page still points to VINELink, but Texas moved new county jail and court notification enrollment to Texas IVSS-Counties on September 1, 2025. Search access does not itself create a certified historic record. Confirm Red River County participation in the live portal, match the person and facility, and read “released” differently from “transferred to TDCJ custody.” State-prison and parole events use the separate TDCJ IVSS portal.
Federal imprisonment uses the BOP Inmate Locator, which covers federal prisoners released after 1982 and can show release date and status. Immigration custody uses the ICE Online Detainee Locator. ICE says its system can cover current detainees and people released from ICE custody within the prior 60 days, but a missing result is not proof of release. USMS custody may be temporary at a contract facility, so the Marshal or actual holder may own the useful event record.
Where Red River Release Records Appear
Each source answers a limited question. Use the column that matches the last custodian, then move to a written record when the exact release event matters.
| Source | Still in custody | After release |
|---|---|---|
| Red River NetData | Current county inmates at the listed as-of time | No browseable release archive; request the Sheriff’s record |
| Sheriff release record | Open booking details may exist | Date, reason, authorization, and destination for the county exit |
| TDCJ offender search | State facility and sentence data | Released or discharged state status and applicable dates |
| Court file | Orders governing bond, sentence, or hold | Disposition, judgment, credit, or discharge context |
| BOP or ICE locator | Federal or immigration custody within system limits | System-specific release display, not a county release record |
Registry data is narrower still. The Texas DPS Sex Offender Registry covers only people with a legal registration duty. It is not a general released-inmate list, and absence says nothing conclusive about a past jail stay.
Red River County Release Systems
Only the Red River County Jail is a verified local county confinement facility in the research. Clarksville and Bogata police can arrest and route people, but no separate long-term municipal jail was identified for either. The remaining pages explain the state, supervision, federal, and immigration systems that may receive or later supervise a person whose case began here.
- Red River County Jail: the Sheriff’s booking and release record controls the local exit event.
- Clarksville Police Department holding and booking channel: confirm which agency accepted custody.
- Bogata Police Department holding and booking channel: trace the arrest to the confining facility.
- TDCJ Correctional Institutions Division: statewide prison custody, parole release, and discharge records.
- TDCJ Paris District Parole Office: local routing for assigned state supervision.
- Red River County community supervision: court-ordered probation rather than prison parole.
- Federal Bureau of Prisons: federal custody and released status since 1982.
- ICE detention locator and ERO: immigration custody that may continue after a county transfer.
Choose the page that matches the custodian. A local charge does not make a state, federal, or immigration release a county-jail event.
